Need help installing Cd-deck

Hey guys.. im REALLY new to audio parts... i have never installed a cd deck before to be honest, and i tried today but failed, i dont know whats wrong, i cant seem to get it to work. i got a used cd-deck thats kicking around, and my stock radio on my 95 240 just died, so i thought i change it up. i went to a local shop and bought the harness, i connected everything together, red w/ red... blk w/ blk, there are a some wires on the harness that the cd deck doesnt have so i didnt connect them, such as a blk/white wire. also, the cd deck has those cblack cover thing on a orange and a blue wire, so i didnt connect those,. other then that, i connected everything. after i did that, i plug the harness and turned on my car, but it didnt work at all, it didnt even respond, i dont even know if there is power. if anyone can help me out taht would be great, i dont know what im doing wrong.

hahaha, sorry ... yeah, thing that sucks is look in your trunk, where your rear speakers are. mounted underneath that shelf are two amps. one for front speaker, one for the rears. those are stock amps, you need to bypass them ...

i THINK you need to bypass them, do it anyway. i think if you search you can find a diagram. you just take jumper wires from one pin to another (like LEFT FRONT + IN to LEFT FRONT + OUT)

again, i think that's what you need to do, i ended up running all new wire to all locations

Here's what I used:

You have to bypass the factory amps in order for the head unit to work with the factory speaker wiring

or it can be just something stupid that you didnt realize.

Did you also have the antenna wire plugged in? It acts as another ground. Should be the same with an S14 as the S13. Try that.

also, did u get the antenna adapter?

What brand is your new deck?

No two ways about it. That deck has an internal amp inside of it which your factory one did not. The car is use to having a very low input going into those amps on the rear deck. You can eaither use some sort of amp integrator to restirct the single comming from the new deck or do the bypass. I personally would not rely on the factory amps and just do the bypass.
