Pioneer Detachable Face

Yesterday my cousin gave me his Pioneer CD head unit to me. The problem is that he lost the detachable face. He told me the exact model number of the head unit. Any of you guys know if I can just purchase the face? Is it worth getting it?

Thanks guys.

i forgot what happens. i would think it'd be difficult to get a new face, unless you show a receipt, but still. easily being able to get a face defeats the purpose of security (you could have stolen the unit w/o the faceplate....). if your cousin has the receipt you could try calling pioneer, but might overall be cheaper to buy a new one.

^ well said. Youd need proof that the head unit was purchased, not just a part number.

Thanks guys. My cousin tried to look for the receipt but couldn't find it since it was purchased few years ago. I'm just gonna buy another new head unit.

Again, thanks guy for all your input.

buying a new face is almost as costly as buying a new head unit... they do this to help with theft... if the stereo is stolen then a thief wont want to spend the cash to get a face because it defeats the reason for stealing it...

Dude, do what LA_phantom said, Just go on ebay. I always see faceplates on there. And actually, when i purchased my 2nd S14, it had a pioneer in it, but there was no face for it in the car... I just went on ebay and searched the model # of the head unit and i got a face for it for 15 bucks... Works good as new and doing it that way saved me 400 bucks cause i didnt have to buy a new head unit

rofl, that would suck ***. The sad part is, people probably buy stuff that got stolen from them all the time, and just don't know it. Especially when cars is your hobby...
