question about wiring in triple gauge pod.....

i was wondering where is a good spot for me to splice in a triple gauge pod to light up? in my grand am....i used my cig lighter light but didnt know if there was a regular spot you 240 dudes use for stuff lik this. Havnt figured out where i want to mount them yet....but im trying to steer away from the pillar pod as much as possible. Seems like a dumb question....but i just want them to light up properly and me not possibly run into any problems because of this(picking a bad spot and overloading it or somthin) appriciate the input guys.....thanx

Removing the center vent is always a good way to go. You can get all 3 gauges in there. Splicing into the radio harness is the way to go for lighting. The gauges will dim when you dim your dash lights. If you need wire colors then let me know, I can go look for you.

That is not my car. I just have seen many like that. The plate is $15 on ebay. The colors that I used are... Actually I have to go look. BRB. Gonna go tear my car apart real quick.

Ok. If you are using a plug and play harness, the orange and orange w/white stripe will be your illumination. If you have to pull from stock harness, then the wire colors for a 92 SE (Not sure if there is a difference) are red w/blue stripe and there is a white mark about every 2 inches and red w/yellow stripe.

I dont have the goodies to hook them up actually monitor the engine ( got them from the local j-yard out of a civic, nothing was hooked into the back of them) and i dont wanna "perp" like i got the monitoring going on....would look kool lit up, but still-i like seeing the needles do their jobs
