question about gauge pod wiring....

i have had a triple gauge pod with a volt, oil press, and temp. The temp gauge has a line about 4-5 ft long and it screws into somethin for its functionality. Question number 1 is......where can i put the screw part at to make the gauge functional?? question number 2 is.....this one sounds dumb as hell- i kno, but im jus makin sure first......wheres the volt meter goto?? battery?? i looked on the back and there are two wires and you can faintly see on the back of the gauge are a + sign for one wire and a - sign for the other wire. thanx alot guys

- for the temp gauge, you must install the sender unit into your radiator hose. after that you run that to the back of the gauge.

check out how to section to see more

- for volt, you tap into any switched 12v source.

^I agree with what he said...I would like to add this

1) + is the positive wire and - is just any bare chassis ground. You should be able to find a switched 12v source wire either on the back or radio or in your fuse box area. I would opt more towards the fuse area and just add a fuse terminal connector.

2) If your temp gauge did not come with an radiator hose (like shown in either example below, you'll need to purchase one. Basically, slice out a small section of your radiator hose, insert the adaptor, clamp it tight, screw in your sensor tight enough so it doesn't leak, run it through the firewall away from parts of your engine parts that get really hot (like your exhaust and what not). Hook up any other connections you may have and you're done!

This is what one style of the fuse connector looks like and the radiator hose adaptors look like.

awesome stuff guys. thank you so much. the pics helped me understand what you was talkin about so much. When i yanked the gauges out of the Si at the j-yard the motor was gone so the radiator piece wasnt there. where can i get one of those from?? JEGS maybe??? and as far as the fuse connector-i can get that at any local parts store, right?? this is more of a personal opinion answer, but what fuse do yall recommend for using the connector in?? thanx a milli you guys!!!!!!!!!

I googled and found the "kit" you need on here as well as other sites. You just need to figure out what size you need. Maybe someone else will know off the top of their head, otherwise I would either measure it myself or call this place and see if they happen to know what size you need. Basically, what is the outer diameter of your radiator hose.

As far as which fuse...It doesn't really matter as long as its a switched 12v, but I would put it on something that is NOT a primary need or function on your car....like the radio. As far as where to get one like this or similar...yes, any auto parts store should carry something similar.
