try that.

i think ill give that a try today. so twist the constant and switched together into one butt connector then hook that to the power on the stereo?

uh. Correct me if Im wrong, but no. Your 12v constant and your 12v switched should remain constant and switched, respectively. Make absolutely sure youre getting power and ground to your correct wires using a multimeter. After that, make sure the radio isnt toast. I deal with stuff like this all day where I work. Its usually a bad/insufficient ground or a toasted radio.

Definitely keep those wires SEPARATE! Try changing around your ground location... usually when I'm having electrical troubles, it's my ground that is messing everything up.

This is why I asked you earlier if you had a factory amplified system. Most times the 240sx does, you need to bypass that factory amplifier. All you need to do is locate it, and "loop" the wiring of each speaker so it's just a straight feed from speaker to head unit. This is the best way of doing it, I know there are amplifer bypass harnesses out there, but 1) You cut your harness off, and 2) They typically can add more resistance and create ground-interference.

Good luck, again let us know what you come up with. Also, please try to search, as things like this have been covered in several topics of discussion.

I've never done the method myself, but what was just described has worked for a few of my friends with 240s Hopefully you'll have the same luck!

yea, if you have basically any modern system, it will have postamp outputs to go to speakers, and then normally a preamp output to be used for subs. and nissan was wierd and had amps for their speakers.

Your audio output from the radio is probably still going through your factory amp, that needs to be bypassed.

I'll see if I can find you a tutorial for now to show you how to bypass the factory amplifier. Thats the best I can really do, seeing as I live on the other side of the country...haha. Maybe one of these guys can help though...
