2 Questions

Anyone know how I can beef up the tranny to handle high HP applications. I'm going to be re-building my engine for a turbo, and some really high psi. I want to know if theres a swap, maybe with a Z32 tranny, or even just some modifications to the tranny I have right now, that would make it strong enought o withstand the power.

Also, does anybody know if there is anyone who makes gears for our cars. I wanted to lengthen 4th and 5th gears, for some more top end speed. Don't ask me why I want to go faster......I just do Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

you won't have to upgrade your transmission then. it is capable of up to about 500hp.

Try here:
http://www.sr20parts.com

Seems like they carry various products(used/new). Email them and see if they can get you a set of dog gears depending on your HP application.

Couldn't you just get it heat treated? I've seen guys run everything from full HKS drag trannies to hardened gears and M/t coolers. If you beat on it enough it will break regardless. I don't see how the stock KA tranny can take 500hp though. Somebody care to explain?

Even the JDM stock tranny isn't that tough. Somewhere I have pics of a friends tranny when we drained it teeth fell out as well as part of a metal drain rail. He only ran it last summer.

On this same idea...

What is the rear end gonna hold.....
From old school Nissan/Datsun....
R160 ---200hp
R180 ---275hp
R200 ---350-400?

And can anyone confirm for a fact that the rear is an R200?

Hank
