240 release bearing

240 release bearing

hey all im buying a 240 and the only problem is the release bearing is stuck. not letting the car shift into any gear. how easy is it to fix this problem. anywhere i could read up on it?

the release bearing is job is to push in on the Pressure plate diaphram. what that does is disengages the clutch from the engine and allows you to shift gears

if the Release bearing is broken/seized at all it will make a squealing noise.. and yes it will be hard to get into gears.

your issue sounds like the clutch is not properly being disengaged which means you probably need to bleed the clutch system

there is no write-ups on the release bearing itself.. but inside of the HOW TO section. i have a clutch swap write-up... check that out.
