i dont know of a short gear box for the S13...or S14 off hand. but if i were you i would just alter the final gear ratio with a diffrent ring and pinion set. this will give you the fast acceleration....or higher top speed( if you please)

i have a 3.917 R&P Set for higher top speed

Why not just get a S15 tranny? The only other choice I can think of is a Nismo tranny.

the Niamo joint is probaly more then the SR clip.
change the LSD ring and pinion and you will get acceleration....period

dont waste money on all that. the diffrential ring grar will effectivly give you the same acceleration properties as the tranny. plus with more HP your car will blaze the rev range like crazy....

trust me i know

i just got one to give me more high speed. so i can switch in either my high speed LSD or my drift LSD

would changing the gear ratio improve shifting reaction time in a drift setting? (i.e. while in the middle of a drift?)

no, changing the gear ratios would make his tires turn faster...thus making his car accelerate/go through the rev-range quicker....

it'll aslo mess up his speedo..but only by a few %

Shifting TIME between gears is not part of the Gear Ratio aspect.
A short shift Kit which lessens the distance of the Shifter THROW is what you speak of.
The Tranny gearing will only increase rpm to Speed times. What Has been done, is to get the 4th gear sprocket from an early Nissan P-up and put it in to raise the rpm level AND shorten the Speed range. I honestly do not remember what year it was pulled from.

OK, well what about the post in the FAQ section of ********** about changing to the 4.6 gear ratio? I just found this last night so I haven't had time to get some research done on it yet, but if anyone has any info please post it up...
