clutch

i was looking into buying a new clutch for my 98 240sx se its basically stock right now but i have many future plans my problem is the clutch has gone out and i dont want to buy a new one only to have to replace it with a stronger one later on so i plan to put in a strong one now. my question is has anyone heard of a gripforce f1 racing clutch or a fidanza flywheel and if so what about them. if they are **** what would anyone recomend to work on my stock car good now and later on a beefier car. thanks for your help

act stage 3 street disc. thats what i use and it works great. its not to agressive to drive all the time but it works great when i race people.
the flywheel you are asking about is a good one. they make great stuff. i dont know how true this is...but i heard you want to stay away from an aluminum flywheel... like i said thats just what i heard and that part could be totally wrong.
this kid i know has a car thats a little faster than mine and i told him i was going to get a new aluminum fly wheel and he said no, go with a chrome moly. but thats stuff heavy so i dont know if he was telling me that to make my upgrade not so good or what..

It depends on what you want to do with your car. Aluminum is very lightweight and provides alright strength, to an extent. You would use it for autocross or street/light race (like weekend). The reason the kid probably suggested chrome moly is for drag or possibly drift. That is because aluminum melts (read- is weaker) at high temperatures. If you plan to drag, where you have high rev launches, the heat caused will warp or melt the flywheel, and you'll need a new one. Chrome moly is a very strong, tough material and is much better suited to high temperature, high pressure duty. I hope this helps you out.

No experience with it. I'd go with the major brands, ACT, Exedy, Centerforce or maybe Clutchmasters. ACT is best choice for most.

Try Nippon Power.com. They have all kinds of clutches, and priced well also.

Are you planning on just street, occasional race, or autocross. If yes for all those/some, then yeah sounds good to me. Just remember you can't beat on it like you could to the stock unit or a different metal if you go with aluminum.

Strip isn't good for aluminum. Hmm. But street will definatly improve with aluminum. You might be able to do it, just don't rag on it too much. I know draggin is rough on it. I'm not gonna say yes or no to it because it's really up to you. If you want, you could always buy two, one for street one for strip, lol but that's insane.
