I did do a search and didnt find anything that could help me.

Here's the problem, A few months ago I installed an exedy clutch in my 240. And I noticed that the clutch was much softer after the install. I properly bleed the clutch and it was still soft. So about a month ago, my clutch was getting soft and had alot of freeplay in it.

It got so bad that the resting position(if you want to call it that) of the clutch moved about an 1 down from where it should be.

So I replaced my master cyclinder and removed the clutch damper. Also the slave cyclinder was replaced about a year and a half ago.

This made clutch feel slightly harder to press but now there is alot of soft freeplay before the clutch starts to engauge.

I've bleed the whole system, but this problem still exist.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to fix this? or if it is normal?

if it wasnt like this before hand perhaps you should call exedy, maybe you got a bed pressure plate or improperly installed the throwout bearing..

 

I never thought about the pressure plate being bad. As for installing the throwout bearing wrong, i dont think i did that. I had a mechanic friend of mine help with the install. I'll try getting ahold of exedy. The clutch has been on the car a couple of months now, and i bought it off of ebay. so i dont have a reciept or anything. I wonder if that wil be a problem.
