Gear Oil

Hey guys thinking about changing the oil on my 5speed was wondering which brand and which grade you reccomend. I'd like to keep my car full Mobil 1 synth if possible but if you got something better lined up let me know I can always use info (especially on the grade).

Peace.

Mobil 1 fully synthetic 75w-90 is in my car now, which is just fine.

However, next time I change it, I'll probably go with some Redline MTL or something similar. I've heard really good things from Redline and Royal Purple (actually seen an improvement in dyno #'s from Royal Purple).

By the way, use 1.5 litres.

Redline isn't anymore expensive than Mobile One Synthetic. You shouldn't use Mobile One in the tranny though, it's a GL-5 oil and is corrosive to the brass syncros in the tranny.

I've heard good things about Redline. I just changed mine this past weekend so hopefully it will be good. Won't know until I take it out of storage sometime in April.

I can't remember how much I paid but it wasn't too expensive. It's not like you're changing it all the time anyway.
