i have also heard goodthings about stock, and another lsd that hasn't been mention yet is the CUSCO one. i'm debating between the CUSCO and the KAAZ...anyone want to end the debate and say which is better?

Kaaz, ATS are clutch type.

Nismo, Quaife are gear type.

VLSD is Viscous (liquid).

I have a VLSD right now and it rocks. But now I have found that I can flick the car around enough where the vlsd opens and can't hold the wheels locked.

I am moving to a 2 way ATS.

Beware of the associated costs of a LSD. The installation is expensive and so are bearings and the such.

If you guys can score a jdm or j30 rear you will find a deeper love for your car. You will also become a HUGE troublemaker.

Doesn't Nismo make both clutch and gear types? I'm pretty sure they do...

I want to get an LSD also. I was thinking about the s14 LSD, but will that last me? Or will i need to upgrade later on anyway? if thats the case i might as well invest the $ into a 2 way or something now right?

WAIT WAIT, I know this is an old thread, but I don't want to start a new one, so bare with me.

I really really want a Quaife LSD, but the price is just SO CRAZY. Does anyone know where I can get one for a decent price...maybe closer to a thousand, and not two thousand...lol.

Also, someone in this thread mentioned that Nismo actually MAKES a gear-type LSD. I did not know this. Anyone know what it's called, or have any more information about it? Thanks.

Ah, thats freakin' awesome, thanks!!

This might sound stupid, but whats the difference between:

QUAIFE DIFFERENTIAL: NISSAN R180 (240Z-280Z) 110MM
Item #: Q-44309140

QUAIFE DIFFERENTIAL: NISSAN R180 (240Z-280Z) 115MM
Item #: Q-44309141

and

QUAIFE DIFFERENTIAL: NISSAN R200 (280Z-300Z)
Item #: Q-44309150

I'm sure they're for different models...but I forget which one works for the S14. I thought it was the 115mm one, but I could be wrong. Or I could just be plain stupid.

you want the last one, the Nissan R200. That is the same type that a silvia uses. the R180 has a different gear ratio.
