(another LSD ?) Which of these LSD's should I get

Ok, I posted this in another thread, but I was hoping for some responses already, so created a new thread...

I finally have the money for and LSD and I've been lookin around for different ones. I have about $1k, so I think I can afford most all of them. I think I'll be trying the install myself or with friends. But I'm not sure with which one to go with. I'm not really racing or anything, but I've decided on a 2way just because I want it working all the time when I want it to and it seems they're a little more responsive. So here are my choices(in no order) and the prices I've found:

1.Nismo LSD
$834.06
4-pinion, 70lb-ft breakaway torque
(but is it a 2way?)

2. Cusco LSD
$950
but no details on if it's a 2way

3. Kaaz LSD
$895
2way 16 multiplate clutch

3.5 Kaaz LSD
$774
2way, but possibly not the new model (less plates)

4. Tomei LSD
$895
2way, 10 friction plate discs per side

5. Tomei LSD
$950
12 discs per side

6. ATS LSD
Just from what I read from Stan. Sounds about the same price......

So any ideas on which to go for?
Thanks

They are all gonna be good, you know how nismo over prices everything. Kaaz ive heard only good about. Id say go with Kaaz.....the 16 multiplate.

Thanks. I figured they'd all be pretty good. From some of what I read, the nismo isn't as advanced as some of the others. I talked to one guy over at NorthwestNissans who has the old model Kaaz 2way in his 240 and he loves it, so I'm gonna go with the Kaaz (new model though)! Gonna get it from overboost.com 'cause I called them and they also were helpful in giving me information. I really wanted a 1.5 way, but the new one is only 2way. They're gonna set it to only 75% locking for me from the factory so I can get used to it... I'm sure it'll be fun and I'll post a review of it when it get it installed. Probably a couple weeks.

Damn, Sil40, you got to it before me!....

Basically a 1.5way doesn't lock as much as a 2way on deceleration. While a 1way doesn't lock at all on deceleration.

check out this thread
for some info. Use the search function to find more info.

This is also a good page.

And if you really want to learn, check out Howstuffworks.com and search for differentials.

Hi focalguy,
Thanks for your purchase. Please follow the break-in procedure on the manual. This procedure is very important. Also please change the oil after the break-in (also very important). If you need any technical assistance, please give us a call anytime.
Enjoy!

Kaaz USA - Tech Line No. 888-522-KAAZ(5229)

Hey Kaazlsd,

thanks for the offer. I may be giving you guys a call if I need any help. But are you there on Saturdays, 'cause that's when I'll be installing it. I read the install article on overboost.com and that should be all I need. And I have the 2liter Kaaz gear oil, which I am assuming is enough to fill the oil, drain it and fill it again. Correct?

The LSD arrived last week! Nice and heavy; I like it! I was hunting this last weekend, so I didn't have time, but next saturday should be the day!
