I want to know if you can find out if a 240 has a lsd by only the model # or vin #.
I have found a 96 se with 5 lug and abs. My problem is i can not see the sticker or move either tire because it sits on the ground with no tires. Junkyard. The ground is vary soft so jacking will be diffecult to do. If it has it than the effert will be wourth it.
I know of the metal plate on the fire wall that has a model # on it.

"S14: Checking for LSD using Car's Model number

Find the car's identification plate on the firewall, passenger side.

Check digit 18 in the model # (not the VIN!).

For Feb '94 - July '95: A, C, or E, = LSD

F, or "-" = NO LSD

For July '95 - July '96: A, C, or F = LSD

B, D, or "-" = NO LSD"

Hope this helps....if some other people with or without VLSD can check this to verify it, then that would be nice also.

 

Thanks for the good reply. I had read that also but when I looked at my # it was 8 digit. So I thought it wasn't right, but come to find out the s14 do have 18 digit #.
So I took the info and found not one but two lsd equipped s14. One had 69,000 and the other 75,000. I will pick it up this weekend for $250.00.Can't wait to race on the 12th with it. That was my biggest problem comming out of the corners. That and tires. Also found a 300z with all the brakes I will need for $300.00 Good deal? I will have to wait on this because I need tires first.
Almost ready to do the engine. I will turbo the ka this winter. Well hopefully.

 

i heard that the 1990-1993 240sx se models came with the lsd is this true;and if so is there anyway of cheking if it does
