Noise from BRAND NEW CLUTCH!arrrgggg
We just put in my Blitz Single Active clutch w/ fly.
Design:
Flywheel-disc-slottled rotor/disc looking thing-pressure plate
I am concerned about the noise it makes. It sounds like the rotor or flywheel was rubbing/grinding-kinda like worn brake bads on brake rotors. It ONLY does makes the noise when the clutch pedal is put in. What I have sounds like rocks rubbing against metal. It does it all through the gears, even through conservative shifting. Here it happens when the clutch is engaged. No matter if I ease out on the clutch or not. It will do it if I just hold the pedal down as well. The rubbing progressively gets louder.
Is that normal? The only thing I can think of is the clutch disc on the flywheel since the surface of the flywheel was pretty rough. I'm assuming this is part of the break in cycle.
Phase2Motortrend says
"The 'chattering' noise that you hear when you step in the clutch pedal is normal. That's how it is with most single plate clutch kits like Blitz and Exedy. That is because the nature of the throw out bearing they used will vibrate and make that noise."
Does that make any sense?
Any help would be great!
