I'm kinda new to Nissans, in fact I'm still looking for my 240 but I'm trying to plan out the stuff I'm going to be doing and learning a little bit about it. Are the Nissan rear ends interchangeable or just the differentials, or how does that all work? I saw the post about the final drive ratios and all but how do you change that? I saw that one guy had a skyline differential or something, so am I to assume that I can switch out the rear components? I dunno what the hell I'm talking about.... Someone help me out please!

you have a gang of options to choose from
you can get an LSD (complete rearend) from a 240 that was ecquipped with one...it will bolt right up to the car.
you can use a non turbo 300zx complete pumkin but have to switch the out put shafts to the 240sx.
then there are the lsd's from the skyline and j30 which will bolt up the same way as long as you put 240sx output shafts in.

i got an R32 skyline lsd with an S13 nismo LSD cover i cant wait to get it installed

Sounds good, by output shafts do you mean driveshaft or rear axles?

 

By "output shafts" he means the parts that come out the sides of the differential that bolt to the halfshafts.
