Angry what does this plug do?

Well, driving back from work I stopped at a light and well, gear doesn't want to go in. So i figured out that the clutch is not disengaging, so down the line i go....Well the slave moves the fork so im bout to change the clutch. got everything disconnected, about to drop the tranny, but it hangs up on something so i get pissed off and yanked it out. And in the meantime broke the plug that bolts in right at the top of the bellhousing right by the engine. With like a 10mm or some other small bolt. What is that plug??? Its the only thing that get undone from underneath the hood. Thanks for any help.

Damn, thanks for the manual, and yeah, i don't see it on there either. Its a wire connector thet just mounts on there, it actually goes to something else. I just dropped the tranny on my hand and didn'tfeel like looking at the car anymore.

Thanks

it's the crank angle sensor. I did the same thing you did and now I have to pull my tranny, buy another one (sensor), and put it in before winter. Your car will run without it, but it'll start messin' with you air fuel mixture (running a bit rich, screwed up idle). One of my O2 sensors went like a week after too so I'm probably going to have to replace that too. If you still have your tranny out, I'd recommend replacing that sensor now to save yourself the trouble of having to pull it again later. I've been researching where to buy another one, but so far haven't found a place yet...

Well, called the dealer and its a magnetic sensor. Don't know why it would measure the crank angle, since the crank position sensor is in the distributor. its like 75 bucks, but its a special order item only, and im pretty sure that if i bust the tranny mount, ill be able to fit it in there. (I don't feel like junkyard hopping today, and i need my car to run.) oh well, the tranny goes back on after work today. Thanks.

yeah it is a magnetic sensor, but it's supposed to be called the crank angle sensor, NOT the crank position sensor. it's magnetic in that it measures fluctuations in the flywheel speed and sends a signal back to the ecu in the event that something is wrong... hehe, thanks for looking up the price though.
