Sorry, i know this isnt realy your alls field (300zxs) but i found a realy cheep 86 300zx and figured id ask a few questions about engine swaps since that one has 170k miles. I was looking into a rb25det and it seems the only thing id have to do is some minor firewall work for it to fit in there. Is there any sugestions of another engine to get other then that one (for a 300zx). Thanks for the help.

So you think it will pritty much fit perfectly? I have never done an engine swap before, and i found an engine (i dont want to say the name for fear of people stealing it) rb25det for 2 grand and some change, it comes with the front clip. what exactly does the front clip alone come with? I read the fourm thing and it said something like it comes with the front end of the car basicly, but that was the clip, not front alone.

I never heard of "front alone" but ask them if it comes witht he following....

Engine
trans
ecu
uncut harnesses
all intake/intercooler piping
intercooler
MAF sensor
boost cut solenoid
and everything bolted to the engine. If you get that you will be fine.

I e-mailed the place and they said that it fits a 240 and they were not sure about a 300.

thats what comes with it. That is a good deal or what? should i look for a diffrent engine then that one (i dont know much about engines). I am lookin for it to be some what of a sleeper (for now anyways). I realy just want that thing to haul some seriouse ***. thanks for all of your help.

That is a good engine IF you get a guarantee of delivery within 30 days. Just be careful of shopping from people you dont know...If they have good references, then you will probably be ok.

I just test drove the 300zx and i must say, i have a new love for nissan. I use to think that they were just like corollas except more sporty looking. I love how the intake is way up front away from the engine (good for cold air intake, thank god).

Is there a 300zx club anywhere that you all know of or is it just the popular 240s and 350s? I also am looking for a good place to find Mods for the engine as well as a diffarential or locker.
