I was thinking of purchasing a 1987 Toyota Supra with a 7MGTE motor already swapped into it. I currently own a 91 240sx. The supra would only cost me 1500 bucks and I was thinking of fixing it up. Then I thought maybe I could just swap the 7MGTE out of it and put it into the 240sx. The supra is a HUGE car that weighs a ton. The motor is great and since people are swapping in rb20det's into thier 240's why not a 7MGTE. Any info on this swap would be greatly appreciated.

 

First off I would just leave it in the supra, its a perfect match in my opinion. Second, did the guy turbo his 7Mge or is it a stock 7Mgte?
lastly, (and this is long)im pretty sure u would have to make a custom driveshaft, downpipe, and engine/tranny mounts.
Also the turbo on the 7m is on the passenger side, unlike the sr20, ca18 which r on the driver side. Meaning u will do custom exhaust work to get from the downpipe to the back of the car. Custom intercooler pipes(common on 240sx) Electric fans, Good aluminum radiator, placement for 7Mgte oil cooler. Also while u have the engine out u could do a metal headgasket(cause it'll give u problems sooner or later) Also lets hope it doesn't spin a bearing like alot of other 7m's.

Honestly i dont think its worth it, but if u do, good luck. It will hall arss.
