92 240SX SE Coupe SR20DET Swap

I Just bought a s13 and would like to put in a sr20det engine. I have looked online quite a bit and was able to find a motor and tranny for 1700 from www.soko.com and complete install for 2000 from titan motorsports.

Does anyone know where i could get and better quality deals on engines and installs? Any help would be great.

How can I tell if my car has HICAS and LSD. I heard someone say something about the VIN#. Is that true? Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone here know about a company named K. Watanabe?
Reviews, product quality, prices? Website is limited.

How hard would it be to do an install yourself with help from someone who new domestic cars and did swaps on them before?
Need some help please.

Going to get my car tomorrow. Cant fall asleep!!!!!!!!

wantanabe is the truth...he's been around forever.
soko is good too.. i've been hitten up for like two years now, both of em.
$200 for an install is good. so is 1700.
you guys can get the engine in and running in a couple days.
just get your research on wiring and you are good.
just get an uncut harness and igniter chip. with your cost....ecu too...
have fun. i wish i could help

Were do you think i could find good schematics on wiring and good diagrams and pictures of an install? Is something like that even available?

I have a couple of articles on pre-install preperation, tools, parts, etc. But what I cant find are instructions. I guess I will keep on looking until I find what I am looking for.

Would buying a front clip make the install easier? From what I understand that would give me everything I need to do it and I would also have to take it apart before I try and put it in my ride. Could make use of labeling and whatnot. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

I would still do a RB swap, but that's a good price for the SR installed. It won't beat a modded RB, but you save a lot of money, and if you're only shooting for 400 or less HP, you got yourself a good swap.

Usually a front clip is a lot better because you'll have everything right there to look at and use, while just an engine and trannie can be risky.... unless you buy from http://www.srswap.com/. You get a warranty from there and their customer service I've heard is excellent. If you are missing anything or something is broken, they will 9 times outta 10 send it free of charge... oh, and heres a site on the installation.....

on the s13 only the hicas models had LSD, and all you have to do is look under the rear of the car near the diff and see if it has a rack back there for the steering. it will have 2 power steering fluid lines running to it.

Also labor on an SR20det from me is 1500
make sure u get an UNcut harness/ignitor/ecu/starter, you can use the ka alt with the SR pully on it, also try to find a DOHC 240, this will make it so that you do not have to alter power steering lines. this will save u some trouble down the road.
