Usually when someone does a swap like that the stock rear axle stays in the car and they modify the driveshaft to fit the new trans. If you wanna do something like that think about doing a 327 or even 283 with a5 speed trans. 283 would be fun due to its reving ability and light (considering its 60's tech).....but there are alot better alternatives...up to you. I have been in the auto industry for years and have put engines in things they say will not work....its all about how dedicated you are and what the final outcome is.

the LT1 motor is a popular domestic motor swap because practicly all you need is just bigger motor mounts and the stock drive shaft should work, but im not sure. A friend of mine has done an LT1 into a 240z and all i know is that it beats evo 7 like nothing

i'll say that while i'm not a big fan of cross-make motor swaps, i think that u should do what ur money and ur judgement allow u to. and as far as brand loyalty, Holden (Australian GM Subsidiary) has been known to drop in either 5.7L GM V8's OR Nissan RB series motors (look up the Holden Commodore ). so if car manufacturers don't have a problem with it, then...?

The Lt1 has been put in a s14. some guy on nico. should be a similiar set up for the 13. I have thought about doing it for my new 13 and keeping it an auto for the wife. But still undecided and projects for me are on hold for maybe up to a year. But my plan is to go 383 stoker with super charger if I go that route in the future. Like sil40 said do what you want who care what others think. Its your car. With a v8 not many will be able to say anything anyway unless you let them catch up.

exactly

HP = HP and TQ = TQ no matter who makes it, if you can afford it, and put it in your car, and you WANT to do it ? whats stopping you ? ohh and i found out, that all you have to do is get motor mounts that lift up the engine at an angle so the driveshaft fits correctly... thats pritty much it, you will be using the LT1's tranny and the host's driveshaft..

Wouldn't one need to have a custom driveshaft made so it'll connect with the tranny and the rear end right?
Want about the tq issue? Will that poor unibody be rip to shreads by a 383 supercharged?

The set up I have thought about for the 383 would only be 4-500hp now tq is another issue but there are pleanty of silvia/180's in japan in that HP range and even more parts for the car to be able to handle the tq. Just keep in mind this was just a thinking plan not something I plan on doing anytime soon but maybe in the future.
