Ok, so I picked up a 90 240sx, at the local Auction, dirt cheap, but it doesnt run, good body/interior,, will not turn over, and I put oil in it, and it leaks right out, so what do i do, a motor swap, I dont want to spend a whole lot, just want to make it a nice lil daily driver w/ decent power, but dont want to dump $$$$$$$ into it, I was thinking an RB20DET, or KA24DE??
I dunno, thats why I want your opinions, hmm.. maybe the KA24E is repairable?? Can it be very quick, w/o tons of cash?

I have other plans for another project, so I dont want to put out much to get this car running...

 

sounds like it could be a problem with the starter or something in the ignition as far as not turning over. I have one question, where does the oil leak out from? I dont think it would cost too much to repair this engine unless it has bad mechanical damage. As far as a motor is concerned, I would go RB20DET. It has more power than the KA and has turbo. Plus they are stick shift. But I would go with what your budget allows you to.

 

Yea, go with what you can afford bro. But if you have the money, id totally go for a RB20. Me and you talked bout it before, it aint that expensive. But if you dont have the money to do that..i would at least swap in a lower mileage/working KA in there(E or DE)

yeah for the money, stick a ka24de into it and if you want more power and you can pay the price, you can build that thing into a mean lil monster
