An eprom is not reprogrammable unless you pull it out, put it under a uv light to erase it, and then reprogram it. You'll still need a daughterboard though. Ive gotten my sr past 130mph with my daughterboard and chips. Check out 925style.com for rom editor.

Yeah, you need to pull it out, erase it, then reprogram it. That's why it's call and EPROM. Kind of a pain, but eh, good if you know what you're doing and what to accomplish.

my jdm klze powered mazda had the speed governer but for that you just cut the speed wire. If anyone wants to copy roms I have an eprom burner, send me a chip and I will do it.

Cut the wire that feeds the speed signal to the ECU, that is all you have to do. The only reason for that wire is to allow the speed governer to work, it has nothing to sdo with the eingine's drivability.

When I wire up the RB motors, I ALWAYS leave that wire off and I have gone 135MPH my RB25DET 240SX.

Very good and you will still get a signal to your speedo?

Yeah, the signal from teh sensor gets split along the line to go to the speedo and then off to the ECU. The speed signal isnt like the tach signal that comes fromthe ECU. The only reason the speed signal goes to the ECU is for the governer to know when to kick in.

Ok so that wire is going in the garbage. Thank you very much. New Jersey's finest thank you as well.

Now they can pull me over for doing more than 115.

doesnt cutting that wire mess up your idle while your slowing down thats what i heard

i know a few people who run switches to make sure the car idles fun when slowing down but when speeding past 110 just flick the switch and no speed limiter? Is this true? THANKS

I cut one of muy wires, pin 32 I believe, Ill make sure later in the day once the light is out. But yeah, speed limiter is gone after cutting that wire AND taking out the 5th gear sensor. Ive managed to hit 6k in 5th gear

What it does it tricks your ecu into thinking that you are always in 4th gear so there's no speed cut in 5th gear...or something to that nature. If you experienceing a speed cut, then there's probaly something else going on.
Thats incorrect, I've always used DOHC speed sensors when swapping SR's and always had a rev cut, the ECU is still getting the speed signal, you need to cut the wire that feeds it to the ECU, I used to have a vid online that showed an SR with DOHC speed sensor hitting governor, but it took up too much space.

On another note, jon powell, I've heard that works as well, I haven't tried it with the SR or any type of RB but I did quite a few years back on my SOHC and it would crap out around 3-4K in every gear (I'm also sure it was the correct wire)

swapping the ss in my car definitely took that away... 140MPH vs. BMW M3 and 143MPH vs. '06 Subaru STI
