Im not a ford g uy, im a chevy guy.... I have a LS6 and a TH350 in my S13 hatch. The C4 and the TH350 are very similar. I would ask what you plan to do wit the car first.

Mine is a fun street cat thats going to spend most of its life at shows. But in the same respect, able to run 10's at the track. Im using a Cusco 1.5way rear differential, and the trans is build with a hard shiftkit B&M, and a B&M 2800 stall converter.

If it was a drift car I would have used a T56, or even a T5, but I rather run, not slide. But if you just want a fun project, use a C4. You can get a C4/TH350 build ***** to the wall for a good price.

Turbos are not going to work. Iv been looking at mine trying to figure out where to put them, and its not an option for me. It could be done, but it would be too tight. They would have to be mounted under the car. I just priced an ATI procharger, I called them direct becaus eI dont need an entire kit because its not a f-body or vette. Im attempting to lay 600 at the rear wheels.

Windsor would be sweet

No the different generation small blocks have different motor mounts. I had to get it all fabbed up. Theres is a company who sells kits, but they notch the crossmember to make the oil pan clear. Which is very wrong because the S13 chassis cant take high torque as it is. The origional crossmember was beefed up and fabbed with the LSX motor mounts. This used to be a rear sump engine, but it was converted to a front sump. The GTO uses a front sump so I got the oil pump and pan new for that model LS2. I also had frame mods made to the car. The v8 conversion kits they sell dont have these, they are just bolt on kits without any reinforcment. I paid about 3000 for the engine, 1500 for the trans (its a maddog racing tranny), I supplied all the parts I knew I would need and the car to a Nissan racing shop, and they did the swap. 7800 bucks parts and labor, plus the 6000 in parts I sent them.

By the way, it sounds like your buying some really used and abused junk. Usually when you get a complete small block that cheap, it needs to be rebuilt. Your gonna spend a nice amount of time and money making this swap happen. You might want to buy something of better quality. As for the tranny, 35 bucks isn't bad, but get it rebuilt. You can drop that thing off almost anywhere and get it rebuilt for 400 bucks.

How much are looking to spend on a swap?

if really set on turbo, like said prolly end up under the car. but i know a guy back in ga with late model 4th gen ss camaro running one of those rear mount turbo kits and has had great results with it. I assumed there would be lag like a **** but he says there isnt. might be something to look into if you really want to turbo.

OutToWinPAHC, love the setup. hows the differential holding up? is there a shift in the center of gravity in the car?

beat me to it but a rear mount turbo is an option for an engine than takes up most of the engine bay.

**** rear mount turbos.

and yes, use a C4 on the windsor, but expect to service it often. you can use a C6, but they rob too much power. i loved my TCI built C4, but not good for highway use thats for sure considering theyre a 3 speed.
