Exhaust manifold changing colors??

i just bought a new tubular manifold for my SR and noticed what its turning a bronze color. its kinda strange because the first 3 tubes are the only ones doin this and the 4th lobe is still chrome. could this be post-detination? What else could this be??

Sounds rich in the "4th lobe" Probably need some tuning.

u think its the 4th one? so your saying the manifold's supposed to turn colors that soon? i just had it put on like 3 days ago and it started turning bronze like within the first day? i've never seen headers do this sort of thing.

Well thats because NA cars don't have nearly as high EGT's as a turbo car will. My buddies HKS manifold on his SR was bronze after about 15 mins of idling. If the 4th runner isn't changing colors my guess is either the flow to it is cut off or drastically lower than the other 3. Or the EGT's in that cylinder are really low(which is what'll happen when it's running rich).

mine is titanium and it chagnes colors its pretty sweet. go to my car domain to see it

anyway, your 4th tube will of course corresponde to your 4th cylinder which means its running a little colder than the rest. check your spark plug and wire to that cylinder.

hopefully that will help you

yeah the car's runnin a little more rich than usual. i had my apexi power fc tunned by a shop and they left it a little rich. the spark plugs ckecked out ok so hopefully it running rich is the problem and nothing else.
