OK YOU SAID FJ20..... THATS A NISSAN INLINE 4CYL MOTOR.
EJ20 AND EJ25 IS THE SUBARU MOTORS THAT ARE FLAT 4'S. YES I THOUGHT ABOUT IT AND WOULD LOVE TO DO IT BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD BE THE MOST EXPENSIVE PART.

NO SUBARUS ARE MOUNTED LONGITUDINAL... THE TRANNY/TRANSFER CASE IS SETUP LIKE THE RB26DETT. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET A MODIFIED BELLHOUSWING PUT ON THE RB25 TRANNY AND FIT IT TO THE ENGINE.

PIC OF ENGINE BAY:

That would be a really cool swap. Anything is possible with the proper know how& $$$$

You can always put a Mustang II IFS up front.

Isn't the EJ20/25 OBD-II also? Even more fun lol

Sounds like to much customization to me, but very unique
