Carb'd motors are awesome but I just dont think I would enjoy one in a 240. It would just feel sacreligious to me for some reason. But 302 is pretty cool motor

yea i was kinda thinking about that. v8s in 240s are pretty cool but it still doesnt really seem right. im still considered a 302 tho just cuz i want easy n/a power and 302s are cheap with many parts available for a build.

Putting a 302 in a 240 is putting 40+ year old technology in a modern car. Why would you go back to all those crude methods of carburation and crap when you can have i finely tuned modern-day engine?? I used to be into 302's, back when I owned a 68 mustang...I would prefer technology over price and ease of installation anyday. Save up, you will be happier in the end.

Here is a simple fact. it is your car. Put what you want in it.
I have a 327 I got for free. I t was rebuilt and has been sitting for a while. In a few months I will be putting it in my 1991 240 hatchback. If I could afford to put in a LS1 I would, but I can't.
So I will spend maybe 12 grand total.

not sure how much a rebuilt T56 is but I do know that my tranny I bout weights around 80-85pounds beacuse the case is aluminum. It is a cheaper tranny to buy initially and a bellbousing from a 85-92 camaro will bolt right up to both the tranny and my carbed motor.

step 1
that includes everything needed for the motor(radiator, distributor, and raplacing the heads with aluminum, aluminum short waterpump, aluminum radiator, carbon fiber hood, etc.)
I bought a T5 borg warner rebuilt for 600 with a 100 core deposit.
this is the same size as the tranny in my car and I can buy an upgrade kit to make it handle 500 lb/ft. for $1100.

step 2
I am goin to put in the motor and tranny with custom drive shaft.
put on my MRW 17x11 and 17x9.5 rock crawler wheels. and get the custom fenders made at a shop that builds porsche racing kits becuase I got a connection there.

step 3
then I am going to buy a twin turbo-kit for a sbc for about 1000-1200 bucks. replace the rear end with a GTR rear end or go for the 650 hp axles form the driveshaftshop and put in a rollcage.
I might even change my suspension from my kyb gr2 shocks and tanabe springs to coilovers.

At that point, I will have so much power that the extra 50 pounds or so from the 327 over ls1 will not matter neither will my heavy steel wheels. I am goin to love it and it will be dam fast.

One year from now this will all be complete.
I am getting married this year or I would complete sooner.
Money sure does not grow on trees. have fun.

A twin Turbo LS7 hmm that would be a hard project due to how much air that engine would need and how much heat it would produce. I would just blow that thing at that point. Iv seen a car at the track with a LS7 worked up with a blower. More power then a ZZ572 motor with more done to it. But a fully build LS7 **** not in a 240. I would want something with a full frame. They got them things running 1200-1800 horse full build with forced induction. And thats still a new motor. A few top fuelers might start messing with one of those. I would liek to see that over those old hemi's
