i know this may sound a lil noob but here it goes... when I went to but performance valve springs on my ka24e the shop asked if i had 16 valves or a 24 valve ka24e. I asked him if he was sure that there was a 24 valve e motor and he said yeah that his comp. lists existing motors. If the 240 comes with 16 valves and the hardbody comes with 16 valves and the stanza comes with 16 valves etc... what the hell car comes with a kae with 24 valves? Has anybody heard of this? Does the head just bolt on? Thanks.

 

This is the KA24DE the DOHC motor that came in all 91 & newer 240SX's.

The "E" in KA24E stands for "Electronic fuel injection"
The "D"stands for "Dual overhead cam"

 

There is no KA with 24 valves. the ka has 2.4 liters though..

12 and 16, I'm actually replacing the head geasket on my KA24E in the next couple of days
