Im a newbie to all this stuff... can i get some help?

To start, ive got a 1990 240, i dont know what motor is in it, but to help, the spark plugs are on the side of the block, and it isnt turbo'd. I love power, speed, you know, the necessities, lol. Ive learned alot about the SR20DET, and im very familiar with turbo set-ups, but im very new to whats in the SR20DET swap. What im gettin at is how much is a SR20DET w/ 5-speed, and whats into swapping. To boot, ive got an auto. tranny right now, but want to swap to the 5-speed. Basically, i need some price ranges, and whats gona half to be changed. Ill do everything my-self, but like i said im completely new to the import world, help would be nice. Thanks.

well if you would look on the identification tag on the engine bay it will tell you, hint hint...ka24e. Everything else you asked has been talked about numerously. just search around on the forums and youll get the information you need.

like he said searching around is definately the best way to learn, but since your new in all. 89-90 "pignose bumper" have the ka24e single cam motor while the 91-94 "chuki bumper" have the ka24de dual cam as well as the 95-98 have the dual cam but are slightly different (obd1 and 2)

we did my friends swap for roughly 2800, that is keeping it bone stock though, so it depends on what u wana add..

a manual tranny conversion is gonna run you anywhere from 300-500 depending on where u get parts, i suggest junkyard for cheapest price...

just remember if u are going sr20 then ur gonna be getting a tranny n stuff with the clip so all u really need to get is the clutch pedal assembly and a few other minor parts along with some wiring..
