From KA-T to RB25

Well, I have a turbo'd KA in an S13 and my plans were to rebuild the motor this summer and re-do the fuel system and intercooler piping. However, im now starting to think about selling my whole KA motor *turbo, fuel injectors, i/c, etc etc etc* and swapping in an RB25. Thoughts?
Oh, and while my car is sitting in the garage, im trying to score an old subaru brat ( ) for a winter car

So are you saying that a Turbo KA is more rare than an rb25 swap? Ive never seen an RB25 swap before. Plus, isnt there more potential in an RB?

Well there is more potential in any of the RBs, its just that a lot more people are doing the Rb25 and RB20 swaps...well not a lot but yea haha. If i didnt buy my clip all ready i would have a S14 and a turboed KA...but yea. Do wut u want i guess a silvia is a silvia

I'm thinking about the RB20 because it would be an easier swap and it would be a lot cheaper. You have any idea how much I could sell my eng/turbo setup/tranny for? Id sell all the add-ons i have. ACT II Clutch, fidenza flywheel, t3 turbo, intercooler and piping, nismo 370cc inj., sard fpr, nissan upgraded timing chain, downpipe, intake filter, all the piping needed, turbo manifold, 8mm wires. Everything but the clutch and flywheel have 10k on it. the clutch and flywheel have 3k. the block and tranny have 60k.

hmm..well alright. Is the RB20 real responsive to mods and all? I already would have a fuel pump, JWT ECU and exhaust for it. You think $1000 could get me up to par with where my KA is right now? Or maybe the RB20 is faster than the KA-t as is?

wuts the HP on ur KA currently, the RB series is really responsive on the mods that u put on it, Ive heard with the BLitz nur spec exahust u get about a 20+ hp gain, cant really confirm that but thats wut ive heard. The RB20 comes with 220ish HP stock..if u up the boost and put on a few bolt on parts u will be close to 300hp if u tune it right or maybe even over 300.

wow. Thats insane. What kind of torque do they make? I wouldnt think they'd make too much due to the small everything. pistons, rods, etc etc etc. Is the 220 at the flywheel or at the wheels? What kind of boost can they handle stock? I'd probably run around at 15psi with intake, full exhaust and injectors. 300rwhp?

OK, well i belive thats at the fly wheel...not 100% sure but thats wut it usually is. The stock torque is i belive 205, but ive heard that its a very torquey engine. The stock turbo can handle 13PSI daily driving, 15 and it will blow on u. Im ganna run it at 12 or 11 psi once i get it the swap done and get used to the car. It will be VERY easy to hit 300whp. Im lookin to hit 350whp, cant wait.

i wouldnt think the rb20 would be torquey. Small pistons, small rods, etc etc. The reason why the KA puts out lots of torque is because the internals are rather large. I might go RB25, custom motor/tranny mounts from UH are only a few hundred dollars. It would be a little more money, but very worth it. I dunno, ill make my mind up by november.
