Motor swap question

Well I'm about to get a 96 240SX and I really dont want to keep the KA24 and I dont know if I should save up and get a SR20 or get the Skyline GTS RB25 motor. What do you guys think I should do? The guy wants $5500 for it, the motors got 166K but the trans only has 25k

yea thats a lil pricey, unless its like pristine condition, you should be looking more around the 4000-5000 range, especially if your gona swap the motor.

I meant that the stock KA24 had 166K I havent got around to do pricing on the rb or the sr yet because ive had recent computer problems. The car itself is a pearl though, only thing i dont like is it has a wierd light purple color(not plumb).

Tonight I was hanging out with my friends and we were at a stop light and a girl in a old VW CABRIO raced a PT CRUISER with purple neons and the cabrio won. Didnt sound like either had motor work but I think thats just funny that someone even had an idea to have a race like that.

thanks 4 the correction smart guy as if we didnt know what he meant any way, and by the way i would definitely do with an sr with $5000 you could make it way faster than an rb25

Don't talk **** on someones spelling or grammar unless you can spell yourself. I'd just swap in a KA with less mileage.

The rb20 swap is usually cheaper than sr or rb25 but the prices on the clips have been going up so i dunno if it is still like that., Swaping a rb20 is as easy as a sr if you have a little mechanincal knowledge but if you go with the rb25 you are gonna need custom mounts and custom driveshaft and it is considerable more expensive. It's also all about your personal prefrence.
