need to decide which sr to go with

i was wondering how hard it would be to swap into a 1989 240sx the s14 sr20?? will you have to change alot more?? i have no clue everyone i know has a s13 swap in an s13. and doesn't the s14 have variable valve timing that is what i heard? and are the s13 and s14 sr parts interchangeable?? thanx

The only thing that will be different is the wiring, it will be a little tougher because of the VVT. Other then that, i think its basically the same as the S13 SR. And some parts are interchangable, ill try and get a list later on, the super bowl is on

No, the RB25 is more expensive. You need to do more modifications in order to fit correctly.

okay since we got on this subject Hyjnx you were doin a rb20det swap and stopped why??? the reason i was thinking the s14 sr20 was it had more power than a s13 and bolted right in i was going to go with the rb20 since i found a great deal on a front clip but i thought that instalation was goin to cost me an arm and a leg

Installation is not ganna cost you an arm and a leg for the RB20. It should be around the same price. The wiring is much easier then the S14 SR, and the only large mod to do is swap cross-members with the R32 one. Do a little shaving on the sway bar(Or get adjustable sways), a little on the downpipe/turbo elbow and a little on the hood(not visible from the outside) and your set. Its a lot easier then it sounds. I stopped on my swap because my funds ran out, and didnt have enough time to finish it. I picked the wrong time to do it.
