need help from anyone that has done the sr20det swap
im starting my swap this sunday and need some pinters to begin.
it is an rps13 going into a 1989 s13 hatchback
i got the motor from a clip and removed it out of the clip already
both wire harnesses are the most complete and uncut as possible
the car that it is goiing into is a shell with no motor in it
since i have both complete harnesses can i just run the wires through the car and not have to splice any wires?
is it possible to use just the sr20 wiring and none of the ka?
please someone help
need to know how to start out and some basic instructions

ok go to srswap.com, and search. no you have to splice wires and extend them send it off to heavy throttle and they do it for 100$. i am about to do the swap and i bought a dvd off ebay , but it kinda sucks, but it will help a little bit.

The hardest part of the swap is said to be the wiring and from what I can tell the wiring is pretty easy. Just do a little bit of research and you should have all the info you need.
And make sure you have the FSMs because they will help you out a ton.

Ok, You will need 2 plugs off the end of the KA to splice on the SR, MAF wire needs to be extended, same for your Power steering wire. Srswap.com tells your everything you need to do on the SR harness for it to run. I did my own harness and it was just like the guide on their site said, so you shouldn't have a problem (I have a 1990 240sx so that is the same as the 89). Make sure you remove the heat shield from the turbo and reroute the heater hoses. Buy new turbo and exhaust gasket, their cheap and good to have just in case. I needed a new exhaust gasket because i'm using the stock Silvia downpipe. CLEAN your engine bay, thats something i didn't do . Also buy a new clutch, almost all SR motors come with a jackedup clutch. Your Tachometer need to be replaced with a 91 +, and check your oil pan for dents. If i think of anything else i'll let you know.
