My friend bought a 240sx and wants to swap the motor.Where can I find a swap matrix for this car and all the nescessary parts?Is it better to buy a clip or just the motor and tranny,in other words how mmuch stuff will carry over from his present engine incase we run into problems?

but i'd say go with the clip...just because you'll have everything you need with less running around........

A swap matrix is a organized list of what fits in what cars and with what parts.Something every "tech" site should have,it really saves the time of you all having to answer what seems like stupid questions from people not as familiar with how to's.
As in this case,I still have no ideas.A clip from what,a pathfinder?See what I am trying to say?I know a front clip from a JDM what is it 100sx or a europeon bluebird,right but what I need to know is it going to be a complicated process?And what parts specificaly are needed?

 

Buy a front clip from a 180sx or silvia. That's everything you need for a swap. If he has an 89-90 you will need '91+ PS lines and the tach you should get with the clip.

 

As far as a swap matrix goes the try this website. It has all the nissan engine and what they came in. Nissan Engines. The swaps that have been done most commonly are the SR20 and CA18 swaps. The RB20 and RB25 swaps have been done also.
