Possible head problems...

Hey guys. This is my first post here on Club240 and I think it's a pretty decent question. I tried using the search, but came back with nothing...

There's a guy selling an s13 with the sr20 swap... the swap was done correctly (good wiring and install parts), but he has a problem with his head. 3 of his rocker arms are broken... I'm assuming this is because he overrevved for a bit too long. Anyways, about this problem...

Can these rocker arms cause any damage to the block or any other part of the head? Is it possible that the entire head itself could be ruined?

Basically, what COULD be wrong and to what extent could it be wrong.

well if they were broken pieces may have floated around causing scratches and what not. The head should probably be inspected by a machine shop to be determined if its ok. Sounds like hes been reving the ish out of the motor though, id be a little hesitant on that buy.. unless your getting it for a hell of a deal

3500, a goldish/orangish paint job (looks good on the car), set of 18" bronze Nismo-style rims, some type of lowering springs, VERY mild body kit, and the sr20...3500 if he gets it fixed, he'll be asking about 4900

hmmm, dont sound to bad since yhour average s13 w/ sr20 is about 5000. Id say its worth it, 1500 should be able to fix any problem, you can buy a whole sr20 for 1500..

Yeh, the car's body is in great condition. There's only 1 small dime sized dent in the rear quarter. A whole set of 8 rocker arms is only 200 bucks, so I might as well replace them while I'm at it and invest in a rocker arm stopper... But yeh, I didn't know what might have caused it or what other damage might have occured due to the rocker arms being broken. Thanks for the info bro!
