My shop is in the process of ordering all the parts for the RB swap. I know mostly everything we need and generally how to go about doing the swap but had a question about the transmissions.
We have an extra RB25DET with ecu/harness.
As for the transmission we have an awd transmission from an RB26. Can I bolt this bellhousing onto a 300zx turbo 5 speed transmission and it work with the 25? Please dont bash me too hard I searched for over 30 minutes and I know there is someone out there that has the knowlege. Any help would be appreciated. i knwo the sr and ka trannys are interchangeable with exeptions of the bell housing.

Have you lined up the AWD tranny with the RB25? I don't think the bolts line up, but I could be wrong. And plus would the RB26 bellhousing even connect to the Z32 trans?

 

Well, if RB25 trannies are used on 26's, I'd assume the bolt pattern should be the same for the bell housing. Just don't know if the gears from the z32 would bolt to the bellhousing.

 

True about the RB25 trans, but never heard of anyone using a Z32 Trans.

 

Z32 WONT WORK, the shifter setup is different. Z32 trans on RB motor in a 240SX will have the shifter between the seat backs.
