rb20 cross member

hey guys just curious if the rubber mounts on the rb20 hcr32 cross member are the same as the ones on my 91 240sx's ? So if i bought a bare cross member, would I be able to switch all the mounts over, and just bend the power steering lines? Also wondering if the hcr32 tail lights would fit in the rear of the 240 with a different middle piece or fabbed piece... also lookin' for smaller FMIC & pipin' for rb20ins13 chassi thanks!

the cross member fits, hard part is trying to figure out why anyone would want an RB20, POS. For your taillights umm take it them to a body shop and spend money on stupid **** so i can laugh at you.

no the mounts are not the same, and dont use a crossmember, if you want to see why you can stop by and look at the difference. By the time you get both crossmembers, and the rubber mounts you will be at around $150-$200 with shipping, its a waste of money for stuff that lines up like crap. Email me and I will get you a mount kit that is $299 and works better than the McKinney, and the tophat/core mounts we have used all of these mounts at the shop and the $299 set works the best.

this is coming from my friend who has an rb20 and who i helped drop an rb20 into an s13. the rb20 xmember DOES fit and makes the install a little faster due to not having to cut the mount points for a mounting kit. While doing the rb install in the s13, he was pretty ticked that we didnt have the r32 xmember and had to use the mounting kit. hope that helps

Sorry Mika, but either your friend is talking out his a$$, or he got the worst set of mounts ever made. I have a RB car with X-members in it sitting 6 feet from my office door, and a car with mounts sitting about 12 feet from my office door, and I will show anyone thats wants to see them, that the mount kit works better. I have no idea what you are talking about when you say "drilling holes" for the mounts, or the crossmember being quicker, its just not the case. Every mount kit that I know of is bolt in, no holes required. Please get all the FACTS before leading people astray when they are asking for help.

like i said this was coming from my friend. and with the top hat mounting kit iirc, we had to cut out the holes for the motor mounts to make them bigger to fit the mounting plates. my friend is indeed using the r32 crossmember. The crossmember worked very well with his car. *shrug* and the capitilization of FACTS was completely unnecessary. Fact - something said to be true or supposed to have happened. SAID to be true or SUPPOSED to have happend.
