RB20DET not starting:(

I just finished the swap and when i turn the key to the "on" position, nothing clicks (relay noise). The fuel pump doesn't make any noise and when I try and crank it, it just turns over. I know the fuel pump works, just bought a 225 and i powered it from a battery just to get it primed, but still nothing when I try and crank it. I'm thinking a factory anti-theft.

There is a plug that i cant find a corresponding plug on the motor. It's a Large 8 pin plug that is taped up by itself and it reaches all the way to the front of the car.

Also, there is a red light on the ecu that lights up and a **** next to it.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE??!!!

the red light and **** are for checking computer trouple codes and i think it controls idle too but when i mess with mine nothing happens. there should of been two green relays by the ECU did you hook those back up when you installed the motor? Can you post a picture of the plug and where it is in the rngine bay?

Well, I did some tinkering late last night and everything buzzes and whirrs. but she wont start. when i shoot some starting fluid in there, she runs but for a few seconds. so i'm assuming that it's not getting fuel into the chambers. I'm thinking the injectors. What is the impendance suppose to read at the injectors? I have the red ones.

Iroc07 told me that the plug I was inquiring about isn't used. and yeah, the green relays are in.

i dunno about the injectors but make sure that you dont have the fuel lines hoked up backwards lol. seen it before and it looks right either way. is the fuel pump working?

Yeah, th fuel lines are runnning the right way. I had it backwards the first time. The fuel pump works fine, I have good pressure. I just cleaned the injector terminals and all the injectors are reading good impendance. It just wants to crank all day but no firing up. Is there any reason the injectors wouldnt be getting signal?

they get their signal from the computer so i would think the only reason they arnt firing is because the computer isnt telling them to. have you checked for the power at the injectors while you are trying to crank. take an injector plug off and use a test light for power to flash on one of the wires. they also have these things at advance auto ( i cant remember what they are called) they plug into the injector plug like the injector should and when you crank it they will flash on and off. check and see if they are firing.

Okay, I just picked up a noid tester and i'm not getting any blinks. Are there anu plugs in between the ecu and the injectors? Or is my ecu bad?

And is the light on the ecu suppose to turn off when i start the car?

i dunno if it is supposed to cut off ill check later today and tell you what mine does. as far as the plugs i dont think their are any inbetween the injectors and the computer. goto www.rb20det.com their should be a wiring diagram for the ecu plugs and it should tell you which ones are injectors. After you find out which ones are injectors probe them with a test light that is well grounded and look for a blink when someone fires the car.

Mannnn, i'm not getting any flashes from the ecu either. I checked each injector, the 3 gounds, the power supply, and IGN. I also did the led diagnostic and it was code 55 wnich says all okay. Does this mean my ecu is bad?

I'd say ignitor chip is bad, crank sensor is bad, or your wiring is wrong. Also if you don't have your start lead(orange) on the cars dash wiring hooked to the start lead(check the RB20 ecu pinout in the net-I think it's a black with yellow) the engine will not get the fuel enrichment and timing kick and will be a big pain to start. My RB20 swap is in here somewhere it's a few years old now though, but the wiring is in there. Both your green relays should click or they are not getting power from the battery. I ran an extra wire direct to the battery one of my constant +.

Well, I brought it to my buddies at vertex motorsports in va and they found that in the plug that plugs to nothing (it's a grey 6 pin plug that reaches all the way up to the pass. headlight) is the power supply for the injectors. They re-wired that part and it started up fine.
