that's the thing, i can't be totally sure, but everything i've read indicates that the R34 GT-R was the first to get the 6 spd (Getrag, IIRC). although all GT-R's were AWD (except for the original 2000GT-R, the PGC10 & KPGC10). here's some pages that i've found that all seem to say the same thing:

http://www.j-garage.com/2110.htm
http://www1.tcue.ac.jp/home1/english...lass25/101135/
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame...car.mv&num=395
http://homepages.tig.com.au/~robs/kevspage9.htm
http://www.jbskyline.net/R34/GTR/index2.php

while i can't exactly vouch for the credibility of the sources listed, i don't believe that they all copied info from one another. however, until i can see factual info directly from Nissan, i'll only regard this as a "very strong possibility", but not set-in-stone-fact...

there is a site that tells you how to mack a rb30 from the rb26 and I think Rb25. I don't see how this is possible but I also think you can make one from the RB20. I forget what site this is but I will get back to you as soon as I find out. The site also lists all the other RB engines in it and tells compression etc. Maybe it will have transmission specs.

i dunno about that one. from what i've researched, the RB30E is an Australian only motor. it came in the Holden Commodore and the Australian made R31 (N/A in the Commodore, turbo in the Commodore and Australian R31). i think in order to make it an RB30DE(T), u'd have to do some work involving the head from an RB26, RB25, or RB20. as far as just "making" this from an RB26, RB25, or an RB20, that would pretty much outta the question (maybe possible w/the 26, even more difficult w/the 25, and practically impossible w/the 20; we're talking a whole extra liter here). anyway, here's a site that talks about the RB30 and even gives u a link to how to go from RB30E -> RB30DE:

http://www.meggala.com/nissanrb3css.htm

maybe that's what u were talking about, but i couldn't be sure. anyway, hope it helps!

That is the site. I didn't really read up on it to much because it seemed out of my league. I just saw that there was some info on the rb30 etc.
