rb26 vs. ka24
#3
are you saying it isn't much better or are you asking is it better than the KA?
Heres a little comparison:
The only RB26DE that I've really heard of is from a company called Autech who had one in a 4 door R32...don't really see it all that often...
Heres a little comparison:
RB26DE
Capacity - 2.568L
Valve Train - DOHC
Cylinders: Inline 6
Maximum Power - 162kW @ 6800rpm (using a online converter, it says this is 217.16 hp)
Maximum Torque - 245Nm @ 5200rpm (using another online converter, it says this is 180.71 ft/lbs)

KA24DE
Capacity - 2.4L
Valve Train - DOHC
Cylinders - Inline 4
Maximum Power - 155hp @ 5600rpm
Maximum Torque - 160 ft/lbs @ 4400rpms

the rb has 6 cylinders ka has 4. rb has a little more displacement. so if u bolted on a turbo on ka it would up with the rb. the ka has better torque for its size.

Again, who gets an RB26DETT and dumps both turbos? Sure a whole bunch of people switch up for a larger single turbo, but its extremely rare to see someone rip them off all together.
In actuality, comparing a KA to an RB26 is like comparing apples to oranges. Both engines have great potential, but realistically the RB is going to come with turbos, and the RB is going to be a better engine to make power with.
Most of the flaws you can pick out like the weight differences can be somewhat balanced out by doing other things, like relocating the battery to the rear, wont balance it out completely but will help some.
I dunno, I'm tired...

Whao WAY WRONG let see. RB has way better internals for HIGH boost applications. Umm Excellent Head design for better flow. Is basically a built motor stock and HAS 2 MORE CYLINDERS and can rev to 9000RPM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow the RB has the KA beat by a long shot.
HAHA ka has better torque for its size hahahah.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
Seriously this is like comparing angry to yellow you cant.
What about F1 engines to a KA? F1 is only 3.0 with 10 cylinders that can rev to 16000rpm. Its only .6 more liters I ALMOST HAVE AN F1 ENGINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you should stop posting. On this thread.

O deffinately if you put like an intake filter even youll be able to smoke the RBs and probably rev faster, hell itll even sound better...hahahhahahhahahhahahahaha. God i love newbs
