Sr startting prob...

I've reccentally completed another swap and I got everything plug up and all but I can't get the car to turn over. I'm getting fire to the starter because I can jump it and It will spin and just not engage the flywheel. If I just turn the key it won't do anything except kick the fuel pump on. I've already replaced the starter once and I don't think I could two bad starters in a row. Could my ignitor chip be bad? Is it possible for it to be bad if the fuel pump is kicking on? PLEASE HELP......

starter solenoid or relay, or how about your connections from the ign cylinder, to the starter relay? just throwing ricks in the dark here, but that seems like your best places to start. Let me know how it turns out and what the prob was.

What does the igniter have to do with the starter?

See if the trigger wire gets power when you turn the key first.

I dont think the ignitor has anything to do with the starter. I'm saying I know for a fact on most 87'-93'chevy 4.3 litres they have something alot like an ignitor right below the distributor. If it is not working the car will not even turn over. I personally have never had experience with an ignitor on a SR. I was not sure if this could have anything to do with the problem. Thanks alot for the help though I think I have found the problem. I belive it is the signal wire(trigger wire), I think I might have just been overlooking this, don't know how either, but I have still not totallly isolated the problem and I've not really had time to do anything else to it at this point.

It finally started last night! It was the signal wire to starter, I just spliced it into the ignition harness. Right before the connection where you would plug in a turbo timer. Thanks again ya'll hopefully I'll have some pics soon
