im getting ready to buy a sr20 blacktop with a complete uncut harness from a friend. we did a compression test on it and everything looks good so far, he also has the ignitior, maf sensor, and ecu. with the uncut harness will i still have to add any wires, i understand that i will still have to extend soem due to the engine being in a rhd drive.
yes you will still have to do some wiring, what year car, and what motor, S13,S14?
what compression are you getting across? 150+PSi is healthy!

S13 Dash and ECU Wiring
There are about 12 wires that run from the ECU up into the dash, those will be cut. The following wires matched up perfectly on both the SR ECU harness and the KA dash harness:
Yellow / Red stripe - Tachometer signal Yellow / Green stripe - Speedometer signal
Orange - Ignition start Black - Ground Blue / Green stripe - AC signal
Blue / Black stripe - Water temp signal
These were cross-verified in the 90 KA FSM and are correct.
On the KA, the rest of the wires (green, gray, light green, purple, red / yellow stripe, gray / yellow stripe) all are listed in my KA FSM as going to the 'check connector'. I'm not sure but I think the rest of the wires on the SR ECU harness (green, green / black stripe, green / red stripe, green / white stripe, orange / black stripe, Red / white stripe) go to the 'check connector' also. I have not hooked these up.
S13 Battery Area Wires
There are 3 plugs on the end of the SR harness that run up by the battery. Cut and reconnect the wires by the battery using the picture below for the colors and connections, or if you don't want to keep your KA harness intact, cut the KA plugs off the KA harness and splice them that way. Although the plugs do initially snap together, the wires do not line up and you have to cut the plugs off and connect the wires using the correct colors. The SR plugs are on the left in the picture below.
NEW INFO:
1) The brown wire on SR plug F10 needs 12volt switched to power the O2 sensor.
2) The AC does work on SOHC and DOHC with these 2 wires connected, but you have to use the KA compressor wire NOT the SR harness one.
3) The Black/Yellow wire on SR plug F8 should be attached to the Black/Yellow wire on KA plug E10. This is the AIV power and will help the idle, especially with the AC on.
I and several others have at least one 4 wire plug (blue /red stripe, blue / yellow or green stripe, blue / white stripe, black) that is on the SR harness that has nothing to plug into up by the battery. Also there is a 2 wire (blue / white stripe, black) dirty plug with no mate. I think both plugs are probably for the automatic transmission. On the KA, I have one 4 wire (red / blue stripe, yellow / blue stripe, brown, black - identified in the FSM as E11) plug with no mate, I'm not sure if this was ever plugged into anything and it may also be for the auto trans.
S13 Engine Harness
The MAFS, Ignitor chip, AC and power steering wires need to make it over to the front driver's side of the engine compartment. After a little playing around, I decided to extend those wires and route them behind the engine to keep it real neat. It's a lot of wires, but no big deal I just extended them all 3 feet or so.
I did not use the SR fuse box, as that would have required me to cut the main bundle of wires running off it and also several people have told me they didn't even get one and used the US one. The starter and alternator plugs to the fuse box all were the same and plugged right in. Several components are different between the two fuse boxes, but again I have not heard of any problems here.
