I tried to start it up today and it cranks but for some reason it doesnt start up. The ecu code I got with my engine set is #25 is that the right ecu? I think that might be my problem. I also didnt change the spark plugs that came with the engine set. But I thought atleast one or two whould spark and make the engine start up. Any Ideas? I think it might be the wrong ecu?

 

go ahead and change the spark plugs, since it would be wise to do so. AS fas as yourstart up problem, check if the oil pan is dented or damaged. (most SR oil pans are regularly damage on shipping.) Mine was dented but hardly noticable when i installed and it pluged up the oil sump and the no oil was flowing through out the engine. if it is dented remove and bang it out or replace and should solve it.

 

umm i dont think the dent in oil pan causes startup problems.. i think it will just starve the motor of oil if u start the car.. not being able to start the engine is another problems as such as fuel spark timing and such.. check to see if ur getting spark and if ur getting fuel..

 

oh yes. that was an incorrect diagnosis by me. mine started but had loud knock in the head of oil starvation. but start with RPS13's advice then check to see if the ignightor is faulty or broken.

 

did u check if u are getting spark? what about fuel? might be the injectors, i had a similiar problem

 

i thought the #65 was the right ecu for a redtop sr20det????
