I want to know, what is the secret, I know the car won't pass smog testing, I'm over that.

How can I avoid getting raped by the cops. I live in San Diego, do any SoCal people have any recommendations.

I would like to do an s15 conversion to a 240sx fastback, but this may attract the attention of cops.

The sr20det motor, looks stock, if you don't get a bunch of bolt-ons, how would the cop know it was an sr20, besides the engine engraving, which I plan on removing.

I think this subject needs to be addressed, because I want to go sr, and I think people in cali need to know the stealth secrets of getting by with an sr.

By the way, what happens if you get caught with an sr swap?

sr20det will not pass visual. It is to my understanding that they are training cops and refs to notice illegal engine swaps. If you get caught, you're as good as ****ed My advice to you would be that if you're going to swap an SR, I'd keep the exterior as stock as possible, no flashy wheels, body kits, or after market exhaust.

1. Don't drive like an idiot.

2. If the cop realizes what he is looking at, you will get cited and have to go to the state smog referee. There they will look for the stock motor and every piece of emissions equipment functioning properly. There is no fooling them, they know their stuff.

 

All I can say is make some friends. Some friends in good palces.

 

SD cops are ruthless, they are tought to look for racers and popular integra, civic and 240 swaps. smog is not a problem but you have to be on the look out for cops continuously. the cop classes are moving up to LA now. My suggestion is to move to florida.
