Sorry i'm a newb i didn't know where to post so don't flame me.

There's a guy kinda near me selling a 95 240sx with a full S15 swap he's selling it for 10k says he only put 1000 miles on the motor and that the car runs perfect. I've read that there are a lot of issues with the S15 swap but he swears his car runs perfect. I'm gonna look at the car this weekend. Are there any common signs I should look for? I read there are problems getting the variable valve timing to work and getting the speed sensor to work since it's in the rear wheels but he said all that works. The car looks really good and i always wanted an S15 but never wanted to go through the headaches of the swap

 

just drive the **** out of it on a test drive, and tell 'em you gotta think about it. Go back the next weekend with a friend and drive the crap out of it again (tell him you wanted a second opinion). It won't hurt to bring a friend knowledgeable in cars. And after you drive it hard each time cruise speed-limite styles for at least 5 minutes before returning the car to the owner. If anything goes wrong admit no wrong~ just don't crash it. lol... well, that'd be ONE way to go about it...

yeah the s15 blacktop + 6 speed tranny..i read that the 6 speed tranny's were a lot weaker then i read on another board that it has the same 6 speed tranny as the current 350z which i think is pretty strong cause my sister''s fiance has that and it has been runnig fine

 

the trans is "weaker" only to the fact that the gears have more teeth so of course they would be "weaker"
