Question wanting to swap my engine.

im not sure WHERE i want to buy from...so suggestions of reputable dealers would be great.

i have a 1995 with an auto

i was thinking about an RB....either 20 or 25....but i had a dream that i had an SR lastnight lol...so im all

anyways...i know there is lots of info on **** but yeah. as far as i've read...the SR is a straight forward swap and should work fine.

so if i do get an SR...where do i find parts for it...like gaskets and ****? will i be able to buy intakes and stuff that fit to it? will a KA intake fit on an SR?

how hard is it to swap in a manual tranny? do manual trannys come with engines or just front clips? is there guarantees on the engines?

to my understanding the sr fits PERFECTLY...same driveshaft and mounts and all that yummy stuff.

You can search for some further info, but I will give ya a bit.

To get SR parts, srswap.com and phase2motortrend.com are great. Im sure Night can get ya some parts too, maybe even cheaper
It isnt hard to swap a manual at all, a little time consuming but thats it.
You can either get a motorset or front clip, motorset usually comes with engine/tranny/ecu/wiring. Maybe some more partts

Re: wanting to swap my engine.

RB20's are a straight forward install as well...pretty much the same as a SR, but with two more cylinders and different piping.

If you get a good SR20DET clip, you shouldn't need new gaskets for it...atleast not for a while. You'd need to custom make an intake since the SR uses a turbo and the KA is NA....completely different setups.

Swapping in a manual tranny is pretty simple...you car should have the brackets for it already...then get the master, and the pedal...custom lines and you're set. A motorset better come with a tranny or you've got a bad supplier for an engine....clips come with them as well. All of my clips come with warranties, and I am sure that most other suppliers have them too.

also if your going to swap to manual it would be better to buy a whole clip since that comes with all that good manual stuff.

i guessing the S15 SR20DET (pushin that mean 250hp) doesnt fit in an 1990 240sx (well s13).....with that in mind i'm personally torn between the SR20DET(the s13 202hp version ) and the RB25DET...but being that i need to save up money i wont be makin any desions in at least awhile

S15 SR has a t-28 turbo, S14 has t-25 turbo. And the S15 has higher compression ratio

this is probably a stupid question, but ive been trying to do as much reading as i can before posting...a lot of the engines ive seen don't give mileage or anything. i suppose thats not a concern, but for what reason? i know one major thing to look for when buying a car is the mileage, so wouldnt it seem to be even more important when buying an engine?

I always state the mileage of engines I have in stock or coming over from Japan....if someone can't give you the mileage or proof of mileage, they're probably hiding something about the motor.
