What is used to clean MAFS?

Is it o.k. to spray carb cleaner directly onto the filaments of the MAFS? How else can I clean it?

Carb cleaner is for... ah..... CARBS! use alcohol. I used a Small painting brush, the one thats really soft, camell hair. then put alcohol on the MAFS and gently clean it with the brush. Remember that litle part is an electrical device(I think is a Resistor) so don't clean it like its a mechanical one.
