Thanks, thats always been my motto. I am curious, since I am still learning about these engines. I hear all this Buzz about the sr20det but doesn't the rb20det fit right in the 240? My thinking more cylinders = more potential hp?

see, there you go. i like the fact that you are thinking smarter and reaching harder.

go with the RB. get a clip for less and still have your manual covnersion. make less expensive HP outta the box and have alot of fun beating up on silvias and 180's

I did happen to find an 88 to 94 rb20det front clip for around $2400.00. I definately like that option but, how much hp do they produce out of the box.

stock is 220 or so hp.
but you can start cranking boost immediatly as long as you have fuel preasure.
i'd say with stock EVERYTHING you can push 300hp or better before you start to look at intercoolers and a new turbo.
remember: in the R32 there were olny 2 engines, the 26 and the 20. both built off the same concept.

to be the best.
i know a guy who has a 20 clip for like 2600 shipped.

If I were to purchase a clip...I would have everything needed to do the auto/manual swap and engine drops right in correct? What about the silvia body parts? Headlights, Fenders, Hood, The whole shebang should come with it right? Also, how much for a redtop clip with EVERYTHING? Also, how much shipping to Falls Church VA 22046?

Hey,

I am not sure which clip you are talking about. If you get a RB clip (skyline) or a SR clip, the engine would drop right in. You may or may not have everything such as a downpipe or driveleline.

Ok, as far as body parts go on a clip, don't count on it. 95% of clips have some kind of damage, usually due to shipping. You get damaged or really bad fenders, hoods, bumpers, etc...and sometimes they rip out the lights in Japan before they are sent.

A redtop clip is a bit more pricey than a RB20DET clip which is why I don't generally sell them. Others will sell them for less. I sell the RB mainly because it's my "claim" to fame since I know the RB swap forward and backward. If you want to consider one of those engines, we could definately work something out.

I was talkin an s13 sr20det redtop engine/tranny...but you say that the skyline motor is cheaper? I thought that the sr20 swap would be easier to do (keep in mind I am new to the nissan world). If I could get some price quotes that would be great for both. I would have to have EVERYTHING needed to do it cause again...this would be my first engine swap experience. I am learning alot though...thanks ahead of time.

Not to bash on everyone trying to sell swaps here, but just to let you know wicked, depending on where you live shops near you might have the front clip or be able to get them. That will save you shipping costs. I know that there are 2 by me but I dont know prices, in the end it might come out to the same cuz they might want more for the clip, but it might come out cheaper. I am just trying to get you to think and look around at all your options before you jump into this. The more you know the better off you will be.

Im still not gonna get the SR swap for two more months now, but im still looking for a good price. Im kind of looking for a SR20DET Blacktop Front Clip. I found some prices, but if someone has a better offer somewhere, that would help me out alot. I found one place for 2500(but just the motor set only, blah!) A front clip for 3000, heck no! But most of the places i found online or where I live is about 2500+(without installation). If there is a better price for a front clip with or without installation, that would be great.

THANKS!
