YO guys whats up
it would be easiest to use the x-member and r33 (if usin S14) front suspension.
it can be done with alot of man hours.
sounds interesting. keep me/usposted on the swap.
u gona convert to single turbo right?
any ides on the tranny mount?

dude that would be sick, awd... i have no clu that it could be done. yeah i def agree with swapping pretty much the whole suspension out on that one... also, would the driveshaft have to be custom shorter length? the tranny mounts... i would guess the transmission would have to be moved back. I have had experience dropping h22a motors into civics and the tranny had be mounted custom style. (i know its not a skyline motor but some of this knowledge may be used) some sheet metal, extra tranny mounts (skyline spec probably) and basic welding skills should be enough to mount the tranny successfully. I have not had experience with this type of swap though, and therefor i don't know whether the shifter will be sitting more forward or to the rear of the car, either way, you will probably have to seal up the stock hole for the stock tranny and drill/cut a new hole. Like rude said, ne thing can be done with the hours... and the green stuff (damn that green stuff!). and keep us posted on what you do!
im terribly sorry for the double post, but i have to correct a mistake i typed... in the previous post i said "the transmission had to be moved back" I mean the shifter and all that stuff, inside the car wise.
once again this is an educated guess... but being that the engine will be mounted long ways, the whole engine is big n stuff... common sense the tranny will extend farther back too right? especially with the awd? correct me if i'm wrong. once again, sorry for the double post, its not my style.

It could most likely be done... but would cost a ton to complete. The front end would have to be a mix and match of Skyline and S14 parts. Skyline x-member, S14 LCA's, struts, Skyline spindles, and custom shortened axles.
There would probably be a fair amount of fabricating / altering very important suspension and body pieces to get this to fit properly.
The transmission will fit in the same place - the RB motor will fit in the engine bay - but all wiring, etc it on you.
The easiest way to get the RB26DETT into a 240 is to use the transmission from an RB25DET. Unfortunately, to get the transmission you usually have to buy the entire RB25DET/transmission setup.
I'm completely guessing here, but with the amount of custom work involved here a QUALITY shop would likely charge you in the range of $10-20k including the motor. Yeah, it's a huge price range - it's a big project with a lot of unknowns!

very good points in this thread.
actually Just B is right on the RB25 tranny tranny on the 26 block. and there is NO i repeat NO custom ANYTHING on the tranny mount..
tell me i'm lyin.............................................. ...................................
S14 and R33's are almost an exact match as far as mounting points go on the front suspension.
what will cost alot is labor. if you do you're own work then the cost will mostly be trips to get extras
don't be scared-if you gona do it then do it all the way.
MAKE IT HAPPEN
holla at me like i said, i have ser-ious knowledge on the subject

well which body style would you all think would be the best. i like the 95ish one but i typed it wrong when i said i could get the shelll for 500 thats a 89 or something. If its mostly labor im sure i could do some or most of it.
thanks for correcting me rude
liek i said i was just guessing becuz of previous encounters with the honda's. That's a relief to know that the mounts will work the same. hey rude, would i have to do an rb25 tranny in my case w/ just rwd??
