will 97 headlights fit on a 96 without out any modification?

 

no...from what i can remember u'd need to change the body obviously, Hood, bumper, fenders, lights.
And u'd need to change out connectors for the headlights, because they use a different style bulb.
As for bolting them on once everything is apart?...i think they bolt right in.
